Our mission is to empower and inspire a community of lifelong learners and leaders!
Dear Pleasant Valley Families,
Thank you to the families who have donated to our Alternative Recess Game Room! We are so thankful for your kindness and generosity. Some of our packages came without slips for who to thank, but please know that we are extremely grateful!! Our cart is filling up, and we look forward to beginning to use it next week! There are still a few items left on our list if anyone is still interested in donating:

We started mid-year assessments on January 10th and will continue through next week. Our learners will continue to take part in a number of these benchmark assessments to gauge their growth since the beginning of the year. Depending on grade level, learners will take oral or online tests. Our learners are familiar with all of these assessments, as they have taken them before. These benchmark results provide us with valuable information about what standards our students still need to master in their current grades. This is also a great opportunity for us to check in and make modifications to our instruction as we start the second half of the school year.
Your child’s Report Cards will be viewable from Home Acess Center on January 25th. Please remember that checking your child’s progress regularly using the Home Access Center is a great way to stay informed. I encourage you to view Home Access Center on a regular basis with your child as well, in order to offer direct encouragement and praise for their progress. It also offers valuable time to help them reflect and plan for improvement. The Parma City School District has an application that links to the Home Access Center and allows families to obtain the information right from their mobile phones. The eSchoolPlus App is available for most smart devices. Families can download the app by visiting www.ParmaCitySchools.org/HomeAccess. The username and password for Home Access Center and the eSchool Plus Family app are the same. If anyone does not know their Home Access Center username and password, email homeaccesscenter@parmacityschools.org to request their login information. For more information, families can visit our website at www.parmacityschools.org, As always, contact your child’s teacher immediately if you have questions or concerns about their performance.
This winter season has decided to be in full effect! Please dress your child daily for the weather, our children go outside for recess as long as the temperature considering the wind chill temp (feels like) is above 20 degrees.
Click here to read PCSD's COVID Protocols for 2021-22. Parents need to check their children for symptoms before they leave for school each day and keep them home if they are sick or exhibit any of the symptoms listed in the SYMPTOM CHECK area of the document.
As always, I want to thank you for your partnership with Pleasant Valley to make it the wonderful school that it is! We are so appreciative of all of our Pleasant Valley families. Should you ever have any questions, concerns, or just a terrific idea you would like to share especially about improving parent involvement, please send me an email at bokas@parmacityschools.org or call the main office at 440.885.2480 weekdays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Warmest Regards,
Mrs. Stephanie Boka

Music Recruitment Night
To begin to prepare students for the 5th grade, the Greenbriar and Valley Forge Music Departments will be hosting a Music Recruitment Night for parents and students on February 2, 2022, from 6-8 pm in the auditorium at Valley Forge High School.
This event is for all current 4th graders in the VF cluster. Our learners will have the opportunity to meet their middle and high school music teachers and some current music students. Most importantly, they will interact with the instruments and select the one they'd like to play in 5th grade before signing up for classes. We will have local music stores on hand to help answer questions about rentals or purchases.
Please see the flyer for the event. We want to give every 4th grader a chance to attend!
Thank you,
