Library Events Calendar Now Available

The Falcon Library has published our annual programming guide for the 2016-17 school year. We have two authors visiting in person: Eric Devine and Jacopo della Quercia. Anne Blankman will be Skyping with us. We will also have Marika McCoola visit, who authored and illustrated Baba Yaga's Assistant and was nominated for the 2016 Eisner Award for Best Publication for Kids. We celebrate many library events, including Free Comic Book Day and our annual Book Party. Check us out!

New Graphic Novel Section

Our graphic novel section has been expanded and relocated. Check out some of our newest titles and manga series. You won't be disappointed! Anime Club meets Fridays from 3-4 in the library with Mrs. Abdul. This club has almost 40 members!

Phone Charging Stations

We have THREE charging stations in the library for students to charge their devices. Yes, we do! One is located on the side of the circulation desk, the other is located near our tall book display and the last one is in the Smartboard area. Students, please bring your own charger.

Tuesdays from 3-4 pm

Join Book Lover's Club to share titles, authors and plan library events with Mrs. Majkut. We also use the social media tool GoodReads online at bit.ly/ahsbookclub for all our book events and discussions. Join us online!

1st Author Visit of the Year!

Young adult author Eric Devine visited Albany High on Thursday, 11/10 to talk with students about his latest book, Look Past. Students enjoyed his writing workshop, his lunch book discussion group and his presentation in honor of National Novel Writing Month! Thank you Eric!

Book Recommendations

AHS Library Procedures - did you know?

  • The library is open every day from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
  • Students need their ID or a picture of it on their device to access the library.
  • Library Lunch Passes are available at the start of each lunch.
  • Students need an agenda pass from their teacher to come to the library during class.
  • Students need a Falcon Library pass from their teacher to come during study hall.
  • Students can borrow calculators, textbooks, and supplies in the library.
