Principal's Message
Hello Santa Margarita Parents,
This past Wednesday was National Administrative Professionals Day. I am grateful for our administrative support staff who do so much to make sure our students, families, and staff have what they need to make sure our school runs smoothly everyday. Please join me in saying "Thank you" to our Administrative Professionals.

CAASPP Assessments Continue!
This Monday, Santa Margarita scholars in grades 3-8 will begin taking the annual California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) tests in ELA, Math and Science. Students will test from 8:15-10:30am daily from April 24 - May 12, 2023.
Please ensure your student(s) get plenty of sleep and have a healthy breakfast during the testing window. Students perform better when they are present during each day of testing, well rested and fed. It is important to arrive on time daily. In order to minimize classroom disruptions, students who arrive late may be sent to alternative learning locations on campus. Last, but not least, make sure your student(s) have their fully charged Chromebook each day along with their charger and headphones.
We appreciate your support during this assessment period. For questions, please contact your child’s teacher or Mr. Jarvis at dan.jarvis@oside.us

A Message from our School Based Resource Officer
- The state of California does NOT have an age restriction regarding leaving a child unattended; however, MCB Camp Pendleton does.
- No child or children under 12 years of age will be left unattended in a vehicle.
- Children under the age of 12 may not be left alone in any house. Children over 12 may be left alone in the house or may care for younger children, provided they are able to assume responsibility.
- All children, 6 years old or younger, must be directly supervised by a responsible person when playing outdoors.
- Children 10 years or older may walk to and from functions, schools, bus stops, etc.
With this being a base order, failure to abide by this would fall under UCMJ Article 92 – Failure to obey order or regulation.
