The Warsaw Ghetto
Warsaw is the capital of Poland. The Warsaw ghetto was enclosed with a wall over ten feet high. This wall was topped with barbed wire and guarded to prevent movement although in the book Misha manages to fit through a two brick wide hole to steal food from the other side of the wall. In October of 1940 It was estimated for there to be over 4,000 Jews in the ghetto.
