Coffee Chat with Superintendent

We were so excited to see our families fill the Lincoln Street cafeteria on Thursday, November 30th to join Mike Scott, the superintendent of HSD for coffee. Mike had a blast meeting families, taking pictures, answering and asking questions to the most important people involved in our students' education- YOU!

Popcorn Writing

Here are some great pictures from our kindergarten "popcorn writing" where students ate popcorn and then wrote about how it looked, tasted, felt, and smelled. They really enjoyed eating while they wrote and, as you can see, were all deeply engaged!

Small Groups

Mrs. Brady and some of the first-grade dual language students practice their vocabulary in English and Spanish.

One advantage of learning in small groups is that time can more flexibly be allocated to where it is needed. The informal atmosphere can often allow tutors to bring all students into the conversation, giving them the encouragement they need to participate. In smaller groups, feedback on work can go well beyond a letter grade, or a score out of 10. The more intimate environment of a small learning group is also great for building teamwork skills.

BRRR! It's cold outside!

Please remind your students to stop by the overflowing lost and found to pick up their coats before they leave for winter break!
