Curriculum Previews
We will continue to build routines into our class with problem solving and higher levels of thinking. We are going to begin in our curriculum with topics such as place value, comparing and ordering numbers, addition and subtraction review and eventually moving on to a review of multiplication along with applications of all of the previously mentioned topics.
Science-
We have been diving into the scientific method and inquiry-based lessons. We will soon be discovering properties of matter and how we classify objects. We will then move into matter and properties of energy.
ELA-
We are going to start the writing process for a narrative. They will also create their own topics and pick one of their liking to write about. We will continue to do quick writes everyday. Quick writes are timed and they can choose whatever they want to write about. So far, they have been very successful and have enjoyed writing freely.

Reading they will continue to read and respond to their reading using a variety of various reading comprehension strategies that will be introduced to them. They will learn to analyze informational/nonfiction text and respond to that in their reader's journal. They will identify story elements in a story and learn to use the words in surrounding text to figure out words they are unfamiliar with.
