Rosa Parks

February 4, 1913- October 24, 2005

Rosa Parks was a Civil Rights activist who stood up for her rights and the rights of African Americans. She is famously known for refusing to give up her seat to a white passenger on a Montgomery Alabama bus. This one action lead to the Montgomery Bus Boycott; the event that was against racial segregation where African Americans and people who supported the rights of African Americans refused to use the public transit system in the town of Montgomery Alabama. Not only did Rosa's action lead to the Montgomery Bus Boycott but it lead to other African Americans standing up for their rights and the rights of their children and families.
