Vision

A middle school that cultivates scholars to be catalysts of change, life-long learners, innovators, and competitors in a global society
Big picture

#OnANewLevel

I hope you had a great and relaxed weekend and are now refreshed for our second week in school. We started #OnANewLevel very strong; based on what I saw last week, I know that our students are very blessed to have a group of dedicated and enthusiastic educators as part of their educational path.

We had the opportunity to welcome approximately 640 scholars who came to our classrooms eager and willing to learn. I know that by the end of the week, we all felt exhausted yet excited because our students responded very well to us. Also, we know all of the hard work will provide dividends in the long run. There was evidence of...

  • creating a positive classroom and school culture
  • caring teachers and staff as we welcomed and got to know our students
  • students having fun in the learning and being a part of our school
  • students being engaged in purposeful activities
  • teachers providing quality instruction
  • determining students' areas of strength and areas of need

Let's continue to work hard being very purposeful in the planning and execution of each lesson; also, continue to strengthen your team as you build trust as the foundation of a high effective team. By doing so, it will make a difference for you and will support our students in getting the best education possible.

We want to ensure that, with our dedicated work, growth mindset, high expectations, and inspiring relationships, our students will be ready for a bright future with a life of opportunities.

Attendance

Regular attendance is essential to providing students with opportunities to learn. It is awesome to see all of our students being on time to school and transitioning in an expedited manner from class to class. Continue to encourage our students to be present and on time on a daily basis. It really makes a huge difference when our students are present learning.

THANK YOU

  • Remarkable Rams for your commitment to our scholars; your active participation during arrival, transitions, and dismissal definitely provides a safe environment for our community. We appreciate your positive attitude!!!
  • Ms. Shelby, Mrs. Mooty, and Ms. Calderon for working diligently in making sure our students have the correct classes and have an aligned master schedule. This makes a huge difference in the set up of the school. We will be begin on leveling classes this week. As you input grades, please keep a paper copy of grades just in case grades do not transfer.
  • Mr. Howlett and Mr. Carballo for being very active in the hallways and ensuring students are in the classrooms.
  • Mrs. Wells for her leadership and support as she provided another opportunity for staff members to come up to school on Saturday to catch up or get ahead.

REMINDERS FOR THE SECOND WEEK OF SCHOOL

  • Continue to submit enrollment counts following the instructions included in the verification rosters and shared by Ms. Guerra. Remember to count students who are present and those who have been present before, but may be absent on the day of the count.
  • Submit your attendance after 10-15 minutes of class. Also, make sure that you submit all of your classes even if you are showing a class with 0 students.
  • Continue to be prepared and provide high expectations for our students. Remember, consistency is key and will set up our students for success.
  • Greet students with smiles and consistent firmness
  • During transitions remember WALQ, Walk to the right, All hands, feet, and object to self, Quick pace, Low voices
  • Engage learners throughout your lessons. It will support the increase in student achievement and reduce disruptions
  • As you continue to update your bulletin boards, ensure that you have an appealing and purposeful display to reflect what is taking place in your classroom.
  • Continue to analyze students' data to begin drafting a plan to advance students and address areas of need.
  • Contact Mr. Lowry to check out your All in Learning clickers to support data collection of DOLs and weekly checks. By doing so, you will be able to make adjustments to instruction and reteach those skills where our students are not reaching proficiency.
