What's Going on @ Consol?

Change Yourself

It is easy to dissect a given situation and diagnose what went wrong; discuss who could have done something better; rationalize the outcome as a result of the circumstances. How often do we look at our-self first and ask, "What did I do wrong? What could I have done better?" Maybe the events unfolded perfectly. Maybe there is nothing to change. But how do you know? Lasting, meaningful change must come from within.

Are you willing to challenge yourself? Do you self-reflect on your teaching practice? Can you change what needs to be changed in order to become a better educator? Be the change you want to see in others!

My classroom is ‘ungraded.’ Want to know one of the biggest mis-perceptions out there? That grades equal learning. I didn’t realize it until someone blatantly insinuated that my students were just “doing stuff” and not really learning, because I don’t “give grades.” That conversation has caused me to evaluate and re-evaluate every single thing I do in my classroom.
