FROM THE PRINCIPAL
LEES Families,
We had another wonderful week at LEES!
Yesterday, several 5th graders participated in the school Spelling Bee. Linville-Edom's Spelling Bee winner is Grace Anderson, who will represent LEES at the county Spelling Bee on January 18. Nina Dula was the runner-up and will compete if Grace is not able. Congratulations to Grace, Nina, and all of the Spelling Bee participants!
I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

A SPECIAL THANK YOU
LEES wants to send a special thank you to Felicia Thomas of the Specialist Trevor Banks Foundation for their donation of fuzzy blankets for our LEES Christmas Gift program this year! Please reach out to Mrs. Strite if you have a veteran in your family and want to know more about getting connected to this organization that "serves the children of military personnel who have died in active duty or as a result of a service-connected issue. We are here to help all Veterans and their families and let them know they are not alone."
Fourth Grade Fun
This week, fourth grade has been learning about Native Americans in Virginia, artifacts, and archeology. Thursday they looked at real arrowheads that were collected in and around Woodstock, Virginia many years ago. The students then searched for plastic eggs around the school yard which contained parts of sentences they needed to piece together to tell them more about Native Americans in Virginia.
