VIRTUAL Summer Book Club #WOVSBC
Learning and collaborating from the comfort of home
Join the first virtual Summer Book Club for K-5 West Orange Staff Members!
As we forge ahead into the uncharted waters of tech integration, let's reinvent professional development. As long as you have access to a mobile device, wifi, and a desire to stay connected this summer, this will be a rewarding experience!
Watch the authors of the Virtual Summer Book Club Book choice, Amplify, talk about their work in the book:
Participation is simple!
What you will need:
- A Mobile Device
- A Gmail Account (your @westorangeschools.org will work!)
- Access to WiFi
- a copy of the book
by Katie Muhtaris & Kristin Ziemke
4 virtual meetings via Google Hangouts (1 hour each):
Orientation and Welcome
Chapters 1 & 2 Discussion
Chapters 3 & 4 Discussion
Chapters 5 & 6 Discussion
There will be one early morning, mid-morning, and afternoon Google Hangout session available on each of the above dates if interest warrants this many sessions. To optimize our time together, there will be a maximum of 10 people on a video call.
If you can't make one of the dates but are still interested in participating, no worries! We will be archiving our ongoing thoughts and conversations on our Google Plus group page. Please be mindful that if you have to miss 2 or more of the calls, consider joining a future virtual book club.
Conversation facilitated by Diana DaCosta
Insightful and fun!
Count me in!
Let us know you want to participate by completing the interest form below by
Friday June 10, 2016.
You will then be sent a form to sign up for a specific time for each of the above listed dates. Due to a limit on the amount of people on a hangout, these spots will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis!
There will also be mock Google Hangout calls scheduled before the year is up for all Newbie Google Hangout users. More information to follow!
