CHS Celebrates Seniors

The CHS student body and staff gathered together for Senior Fest on Friday. The annual event honors the senior court, and departmental award recipients from the graduating class. We will have a full list of department award recipients next week.


This was the last "official" event to be held in the CHS gym before it is handed over to Forma Construction for work during phase II of the modernization project.

More Than $140,000 Awarded by Dollars for Scholars

Students, families, friends, and staff gathered at the Centralia Community Church of God on Wednesday for the annual Dollars for Scholars Scholarship Night. More than $140,000 of locally donated scholarship money was awarded to the class of 2019 from Dollars for Scholars alone. In their history, Dollars for Scholars has provided more than $2 million to graduates of Centralia High School.

Washington Elementary Robotics Team Rookie Champs at STEM Invitational

The 4th grade robotics team at Washington Elementary was the only elementary school to compete in the South Sound Invitational STEM Robotics competition in Olympia this week. Even though they were competing against middle and high school aged teams, our Mini Tigers earned the title of Rookie School Champions! A team of young ladies also won the rookie dragster bot division as well!

Centralia Police Officer Visits Jefferson Lincoln with K-9 Partner

Centralia Police officer Ramirez and his K9 partner, Pax, visited students at Jefferson Lincoln this week. Ramirez and Pax put on a demonstration of Pax's "people skills" with the help of another partner before the students had an opportunity to pet and hug Pax.

Lauri Johnson led her Centralia MIddle School choirs in their final performance of the school year this week. The event was live streamed, and the video can be viewed on our Centralia School District Facebook page.

Erickson Signs With Linfield

CHS Senior Makayla Erickson signed an athletic letter of intent with Linfield College this week, surrounded by friends, family, and staff. Erickson is one of 5 students this year who have participated in three seasons of sports for four years at CHS. She qualified for state in Cross Country four times.

Rex Ashmore Heading for State Coaches Hall of Fame

Longtime CHS baseball coach, Rex Ashmore, is being awarded a spot in the state Coaches Hall of Fame this weekend. CHS baseball has a 99-64 record under Ashmore's leadership since 2013. He has led our tigers to five regional appearances and a state championship in 2015. Click here to read more from The Chronicle...

Bulldogs Visit Nisqually

The weather was more reminiscent of late October than early June, but Edison Elementary's second grade wouldn't let a little rain dampen their spirits. They visited the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually Wildlife Refuge on Friday. Groups were hosted by refuge staff through several activities that included using microscopes to study aquatic creatures and guided walks through the refuge.
