While You Are Waiting...

As we navigate through the winter and these challenging times with high Covid transmission rates, we are implementing programs to help you keep in shape and to help you to transition into the rowing season.

Beginning this month, our Naiades "February Challenge" is on for mostly any kind of activity: walking, yoga, snow shoveling, weightlifting, skiing, and erging that you do. You simply keep track by recording your activity and the amount of time you were active for each day of the month.

In March, we hope to be back to Indoor Erging & Core/Circuit Workouts at Genesee Waterways Center (GWC). (Please signup by Feb. 21st if you are planning to attend in March.)

If you're interested in any of the above programs please email: Program@NaiadesOncologyRowing.com for additional details, tracking tool instruction and with any of your questions.

Rochester Community Inclusive Rowing (RCIR) Fund Raiser

On Saturday, Feb. 5th, Rochester Community Inclusive Rowing (RCIR) is participating in a fundraiser for the Para Rowing Foundation of Boston in an event called Endurow Challenge: https://www.endurowchallenge.com/ This is the largest live streamed indoor erging event in the world for charity.

RCIR rowers will be erging locally at their RCIR facility from 7am to 11 am, along with some of our Naiades rowers. This is not a competitive event. You are welcome to join in and have some fun.

If you are interested, please email: Program@NaiadesOncologyRowing.com for additional details. In addition, please note that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) vaccination recommendations would apply.

An Abundance of Thanks to Row for the Cure

We are proud to announce that Naiades Oncology Rowing was one of 27 recipients of grant monies from Row for the Cure, a non-for-profit organization, dedicated to supporting patients with cancer: Row for the Cure Announces 27 New Grants in Support of the Cancer Community - Row for The Cure

Distribution of these grants demonstrate Row for the Cure's overall goal to support cancer communities and rowing organizations such as ours which empower cancer survivors through rehabilitation and exercise programs while providing camaraderie, support and socialization.

As a result of this donation, Naiades Oncology Rowing will be able to continue to reduce rower's costs, promote our rowing programs and promote our rower scholarship fund.

We are eternally grateful to Row for the Cure's generosity to our cause and recognition of our rowing organization.

This Month's Quote to Live By

by Peggy Fleming:

"I think Exercise tests us in so many ways, our skills, our hearts, our ability to bounce back after setbacks. Exercise is the inner beauty of sports and competition, and it can serve us all well as adult athletes."

How to Add More Tribute Names:
