Getting Started with Google Classroom
What is Google Classroom?
Currently, we have nine teachers trying Google Classroom with their students here at MRS and new teachers are joining all the time. Classroom can (and may be) a replacement for Hapara and has a lot of nice features. I would love to get more teachers to explore and experiment with Classroom before the year ends.
Classroom is designed to help teachers create and collect assignments paperlessly, including time-saving features like the ability to automatically make a copy of a Google Document for each student. It also creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each student to help keep everyone organized.
Students can keep track of what's due on the Assignments page and begin working with just a click. Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback and grades right in Classroom.
I'm including a link to the Google Classroom site and to an introductory video so you can become familiar with what Classroom has to offer. If you want to give it a try, or just come and take a look, bring your device to the media center tomorrow morning at 8:05 and I will give you an overview of what Classroom has to offer.
