Worthington Park Shark Sentinel
Friday, May 6th, 2022
Dear Worthington Park Families,
Happy Friday Worthington Park Families. I wanted to take a minute to thank our entire school community for the past week. Last Friday evening, we had our Spring Fling celebration here at Park. For many of us, this was the first major, in-person, celebration we have had in many school years. And it did not disappoint! I'd like to thank the PTA and all of our parent volunteers who made the evening a safe and successful celebration. It was a wonderful evening of fun, food, and even an impromptu dance party with some of our former Park Sharks.
The celebrations continued this past week at school as we recognized our teachers as part of Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you to all of those who donated items and time to honor the incredible work of our 58+ staff members. From the treats in the lounge to the covering of recess duty- our team and I are incredibly thankful.
Please take a few minutes to review the information below. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our school office with any questions or concerns. Go Sharks!

Spring MAP Testing
We are almost complete with our Spring Assessment this school year. Next week, a few classrooms will be taking their math or science MAP tests during the school day. These assessments are an adaptive computer-based test that allows students and our teachers to measure their progress this past school year. All K-5th graders in Worthington schools take this assessment at different times. Below are the remaining dates when students are taking these MAP assessments in their classrooms:
Monday, May 9th- 1st and 2nd Grade Math / 5th Grade Science
Tuesday, May 10th- 1st and 2nd Grade Math
Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher if you have more questions about MAP or their testing date. If you would like additional information on MAP testing- visit their Family Tool-Kit website linked here.
