Thank you Band Boosters for an AMAZING year! Without you, we definitely could not have done it.
They have taken care of us in MANY ways. Paid for many things like part of the Band trip, the buses for the football season, provided opportunities such as the Band Family BBQ, Senior 3rd quarter banquet, ALL of the awesome food at the concession stand and the band barn, AND they have given us the wonderful May concert at LCCC's Stocker Center! Make sure and give them a big thank you!
Need a graduation present?
For $40 your Graduate can have a piece of Midview Band history! Contact Mr. B for more details!
NEW FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR!
Say goodbye to practice logs and Charms recordings and say hello to Smart Music! This system will be a much more beneficial we to prepare your music and it will be a lot easier too! You no longer need to remember to enter your practice logs because Smart Music will "record" the amount of minutes you practice per week! It will also assess you on your performance of specific assignments. You will need either a desktop, laptop, or iPad for use at home, and it will only be $8 for the ENTIRE year! Any questions? Ask Mr. B! (There will also be more info sent within flyers for you!)
Fall FREE Physical details
For all who will march next season. You MUST have a physical turned in to the Athletic Director before the first game or you cannot march. Click HERE for details for a free physical!
Private Lessons
Private Lessons are essential for musicians. There are many times we hear "I wish I can sound like that". They sound that way because they take private lessons! Baldwin Wallace has an AMAZING music department with an OUTSTANDING private lessons program. We need to take full advantage of this opportunity! Click HERE for details!!!!
4-H Band!
If you are interested in participating in the Lorain County 4-H Band. See the flier below!!!!
Your instrument needs an oil change and new tires!!!
Yes, you read that correctly. An instrument is very much like a car. Every 3,000 miles (one school year for brass, 1 marching season for woodwinds) your instrument needs a tune up. Take it to a music store for maintenance, so your instrument is ALWAYS in good working order.
Instrument Maintenance
HERE are some excellent videos on how to keep your instrument in good quality working order.
Keep up your fundamentals!
To keep our musicianship on such a high level, it is strongly suggested that you take the Embouchure Boot Camp challenge! By clicking HERE, you get access to this outstanding program. Find your instrument and enjoy Boot Camp!
Listening Lab
To really know how to do something, it is most often better to watch first. In our case (being musicians), we must listen to as much music as possible. You should be listening to professional soloists of your instrument, and listen to professional Bands (Tokyo Kosei for example) performing you concert music. Tonal Energy Tuner has a wonderful website that has perfect example of professional instrumental soloists for any listener
