Impact Of Mobile Phones

Discussing The Impacts Of Teenagers Using Mobile Phones

Sexting

The number of teenagers with mobile devices has increased dramatically increased in the past few years. This means that there is a growing number of teenagers being found doing inappropriate activity such as sexting. Sexting is defined as "The Sending of sexually explicit photographs or messages via Mobile phones". Sending photos without cloths on is a offence and you could get the person you are sending them to in lots of trouble with the police for possession of child pornography. Remember that once you hit send there is nothing you can do, the messages or photos are out there forever and although at the time you may think the person receiving them would never show anyone, they might in the future.

Think before you send.

Cyber Bullying

Cyber bullying is the use of an electronic communication to bully someone else, typically by sending messages of an intimidating nature. Cyber bullying is used every day between teenagers and it terrible. When it comes to cyber bullying, they are often motivated by anger, revenge or frustration. Sometimes they do it for entertainment or because they are bored and have too much time on their hands. Many do it for laughs or to get a reaction. Some do it by accident, and either sends a message to the wrong recipient or didn’t think before they did something. Education can help considerably in preventing and dealing with the consequences of cyber bullying. The first place to begin an education campaign is with the kids and teens themselves. We need to address ways they can become inadvertent cyber bullies, how to be accountable for their actions and not to stand by and allow bully (in any form) to be acceptable. We need to teach them not ignore the pain of others.
