Message From Principal Danzy:

Greetings Vista Grande Family,

Welcome to semester 2 of the 2022-2023 school year. Hope everyone has been well rested and have been able to get geared up for the remainder of the year. Let's stay focused and finish strong.

We are happy to have everyone back. We are happy to see have all of our students and we are ready to have a great semester.

We are glad to have ALL STAFF back and are looking forward to great 2nd semester.

Announcements:

  • ACT Aligned Benchmarks and Progress Checks In order to support all of our students in meeting college and career readiness benchmarks measured by the ACT our students are taking regular assessments to measure their progress. Progress checks are administered every two weeks and we will be recognizing students who score at least 5/6 on these assessments. Our next full-length benchmark is scheduled for January. Students can access their scores on these assessments using these instructions.

    Blackboard Access Families are encouraged to log into Blackboard to support your student’s academic progress. In Blackboard, you will be able to review your student’s classes, check assignments completed and better understand what they are learning in class. Please ask your student for their password information in order to access. If you need support in accessing your student’s password, please call (520)374-7170

    POWER SCHOOL APP

    We have an app for that!

    Do you want real time information about attendance and grades for your student? You can

    easily access using the PowerSchool App. Stay on top of assignments and participate

    more fully in your student's daily progress with the PowerSchool App. Students can

    download and use it too!

    1. Download from your app store.

    2. Enter the District Code: QJDT.

    3. Enter your username and password. This will be the same username and password you use to access the web-based PowerSchool Parent Portal.


  • Our second ACT benchmark is scheduled for January 24th. This important assessment helps students, teachers, and families understand how students are performing in relation to important college and career readiness benchmarks. All students have set goals based on their performance on Benchmark 1. Please discuss this important assessment with your student and ensure that they are in school on time on the 24th ready to give their best on the assessment. To learn more about your student’s score on benchmark 1, please ask your child to log in to Performance Matters where they can see the score.

  • MLK Day of Service: commUNITY:

  • Who: All Students, Teams, Clubs and Families Welcome!

  • When: Monday, January 16th

  • Where: Ceremony Begins at Peart Park (350 E 6th St, Casa Grande, AZ 85122, Near Downtown) Time: 9:30am – Noon (approx.)

  • What: Ceremony begins at 9:30am with a speech from the Mayor and others speaking. Following the ceremony volunteers will be given instructions, to break into about four or five service projects groups, located across the community. Volunteers can participate in a range of activities (for approx. an hour and a half)

  • Clean-Up Allies

  • Clean- Up Florence Blvd.

  • Paint over graffiti on walls

  • Distribute food to some identified neighborhoods

  • And More • SPARTANS wear something VISTA GRANDE… Black, White & Gold Volunteers are than asked to return to the Peart Park where lunch will be provided.
