EOG Week
It's the week of EOG's and I want to send a special word of encouragement to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers as they begin EOG testing. I'm praying for peace this week as I'm sure you will think on if you could have drilled this or that harder, or spent more time on a concept. The truth is, the students are as ready as they are going to be. The things that you've taught them will be brought back to their remembrance as they navigate their way through the tests. I am proud of the work that you've done this year. Your students will do well and surpass your expectations!

- When completing the end of year information, this needs to be done as a personal response, not as a grade level (I should not see the same response from every one on your teams, nor should I see 1 sentence as a review) . Here is an example from a teacher that has already completed. This is an exemplar, please use this to guide you but do not copy.
- Evidence of Progress Toward Specific Standards of Elements to be Addressed/Enhanced: I conducted a second learner profile mid year and made adjustments to any differences I may have noticed from the first learner profile. Overall my students were enjoying the learning opportunities that were provided. Students have enjoyed their personalized learning quests, seating choices, and the different ways they are able to share their learning.According to my MAP scores, I had 15 students in my Block 1 score above grade level and the remaining 12 were on grade level with high RIT scores. In Block 2, I had 13 students score above grade level and the remaining 13 were on grade level with high RIT scores. Overall the majority of my students increased their RIT score from Fall to Spring. Some of my students had significant growth while others missed their projected growth by only a few points. I met with each of my students individually to discuss their progress and areas of improvement. I will focus more heavily on the students who missed their projected scores by more than 5 points.
I am currently using the pilot program education galaxy for more interactive review lessons. The students are enjoying this program and it helps me select specific standards for my students who scored low in certain areas of their MAP or classroom assessments.
Teacher's Comments
The learner profiles were very beneficial. They allowed me to plan and create instruction that met the needs of my students and also kept them engaged. The students loved the personalized learning quests because they were able to choose their pathway of learning and take ownership. I always reflect after giving a quest and make needed changes for the following year. In the future, my quests may change based off of new learner profile results. I look forward to seeing my End of Grade test scores and if the new implementations to instruction make a difference
Input your end of year information and save (be sure to get a green checkmark); Email me when it's complete by May 19th.
