It was a great week in Preschool!
We continued getting used to the routines and rules of preschool, but had LOTS of fun along the way! Our focus was on learning to play cooperatively and getting used to all the interest areas (centers) in our classroom. Some friends had classroom jobs this week, while others will take a turn next week. We read a story each day as a group, and have been learning and practicing many songs. The Wheels on The Bus, Five Little Monkeys, The Itsy-Bitsy Spider, and If You’re Happy and You Know It are just a few :) We’re off to a great start!!
Listening to and retelling a story are early literacy skills ... we had fun with Brown Bear, Brown Bear this week in school!
All of our friends did a little scissors practice this week :)
Playing with the letters in our name helps us learn them.
We also tried out painting with brushes in small groups - mixing colors was great fun!
Miss Kelly, our Occupational Therapist, visited to help us explore touching squishy paint and holding our tools correctly, among lots of helpful things :)
Art materials are available at choice time ...
... and our dramatic play area was outfitted for birthday party pretend play :)
Our friends are doing well building together :)
These friends were showing Miss Becky, our Speech teacher, how they sorted all the washers.
Mrs. Reuter and Mrs. Blumenstein, our classroom aides, working with friends at playdoh.
We spent time in the playground ...
.... and played inside :)
We even played in the gym (but we didn’t take pics)!
Here are “the rules”
