October 6, 2022

Dear Erickson Families,

The MAC Walk Cal's Angels Fundraiser was a huge success and raised over $7000.00 for Cal's Angels and was donated in Michael Carr's name. Lucky Looms, the 5th Grade fundraiser led by Hannah, Diya & Zhara, raised $246.00. Way to go girls! Thank you to the Erickson community for supporting such an important cause and for being so generous. See pictures below from the event.

Each year schools in Bloomingdale nominate one student from the 5th grade class to win the Youth Character Counts Award. This year's recipient is Quinn C. Quinn is a student who consistently shows the six pillars of character and SOARS each day at Erickson. Congratulations to Quinn! During the event the Erickson Student Council performed a song about friendship. It was nice to see Erickson students performing in front of the community.

October 14th is our SUPER SPIRIT DAY. On this day students can bring in socks to donate to Socks for Souls via the Bloomingdale Character Counts! Coalition. Students can wear spirit wear, CRAZY SOCKS, and bring in a pair of socks to donate. The classroom from each wing with the most spirit (a point for each of the above) will win a popsicle party. Let's show our school spirit and support Socks for Souls.

Enjoy the 4 day weekend as there is NO school on Friday, Oct. 7 or Monday, Oct. 10.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, comments, or feedback. The best way to reach me would be via email or phone: sjohnston@sd13.org or 630-529-2223.

Have a great rest of your week!
