Principal's Message
Happy Sunday RMS Team!
I hope your weekend was enjoyable. Mine was pretty exciting as we welcomed a new addition to our family! You will see pictures of Skye and Juniya below. I plan to keep this bulletin fairly short since we have a staff meeting on Wednesday, April 8th at 11:00am. The meeting was set for Wednesday due to waiting on a district update on Tuesday. Additionally, RMS Leadership Team Meeting has been moved to next Monday.
Heads Ups!
Please review a copy of the instructional day that will soon be shared with parents. This will be unified across the district. I know that digital learning is not easy and last week’s pd’s offered by the district were a lot to absorb. However, we need to get comfortable with being uncomfortable during this difficult time. Please work in as much of the Google Hangout and other virtual learning devices to support student learning. Thank you, Ms. Brown for providing a second round of training to our team!
Continue to ensure that all AMI work is placed in the link sent by Kerri Berry and also attached here in the bulletin. Once we get the final go to utilize the new process for getting in the building, the AMI packets will be copied and provided for families in the same manner as the previous week. Please make sure week 2 is complete on the AMI Teacher Lesson Plan Form created by our Team by Monday at 8:00am. Attached Link
As seen above on the bulletin, Mr. Light has helped us develop an online component for PBIS. It is well done. If we could make a point on referencing it by Tuesday for all 1st period classes; that would be great! The presentation has been placed in Senator Scroll as well.
Special Education Teachers: Please make sure administrators are invited to IEP meetings.
Yaa Appiah-McNulty- 6th Grade
Bobbie Banks- 7th Grade
John Bagby- 8th Grade (If John can’t make it, invite Yaa).
Last by not least, thank you for the work done thus far! I have really enjoyed seeing the videos created. We are still waiting on the rest of the staff to add videos, please do so by Tuesday of this week as it was due last week.
Google Classroom Tips!
Transparency is always a great thing when supporting students and parents. By next year, we are going to be in a better place with technology supports due to our current circumstance. Please review the 3 minute video to learn more about sharing your Google Calendar/ Classwork with parents. Video is created by Mrs. Appiah-Word from Chicago Public Schools.
