Congratulations to Leah Rollins

Congratulations are in order for Miss Leah Rollins, 8th grade student, who recently placed 5th in the VFW Essay contest. Several 8th grade students participated in this contest. Mr. Adam Floyd was the class sponsor.

Leah's essay will be submitted to the district level competition.

Mrs. Patterson's Class Enjoys a Thanksgiving Meal

Mrs. Patterson's class completed a unit in math on planning a Thanksgiving meal. Students solved equations to determine serving sizes and total cost of a Thanksgiving meal. Students also had a lesson in proper dining etiquette and good table manners.

There will be no school on Monday, January 21, in honor of MLK Day.

The district basketball tournament begins Monday afternoon, January 14, at 4:00. Games will be played on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Mrs. Sandi Grayson, who has been chosen as the Teacher of the Year. This is a prestigious honor given to one teacher each year. Honorees are chosen by their fellow educators. Mrs. Grayson teaches 6th grade math and will be honored at a banquet later this month.

4-H County Speech Winners

Congratulations to our recent participants in the 4-H County Speech Competition. We are so proud of their hard work and commend them on their courage to participate.

Annual Glee Club and Chorus Concerts

On December 4, the glee club and chorus participated in their annual Christmas concerts. Once again, the performances were outstanding and served to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. We appreciate the hard work of Mr. Payne and his students and look forward to their next performance.

If you are a first time user, you will be prompted to complete a second step where you have to verify your email. You only have to complete this verification one time. The email address for making transportation changes is wms@mctns.net. The link to this email is also on the top of the left hand column of the website.

When contacting administration or teachers without going through the website, you can do so by using the following email addresses. All emails end with @whitwellmiddleschool.org.
