Three Companies that Marketed Themselves the Best

1. Nike advertised themselves extremely well. Right at the start of the year, they advertised with multiple athletes, such as LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, and Kyrie Irving. New editions of their shoes were released as well this year. Advertisements for these signature shoes with the athletes appearing on them were all over the place, on TV, YouTube, the internet, and social media. Nike also released signature shoes for different causes and cultures, like the BHM (Black History Month) and N7 (Native American foundation) shoe lines. Nike really worked to differentiate itself this year.

2. Under Armour made a HUGE comeback this year. With its main athlete, Stephen Curry, releasing two shoe editions, the Curry 1 and Curry 2, and tons of apparel after having a break out year, winning MVP and the NBA championship in the 2014-15 season and getting a 24 game winning streak and closing out 2015 as the NBA's top scoring in the 2015-16 season, business for Under Armour has boomed. Commercials for Under Armour have hit records for its amount of views on YouTube. With other breakout athlete endorsements, such as Jordan Speith, Tom Brady, Bryce Harper, Julio Jones, Michael Phelps, Under Armour is making a competitive run with Nike.

3. Apple marketed itself extremely well. With the release of the iPhone 6s, which set records for sales with 13 million sold, it had an extremely successful year. This is all because of its advertising and work to differentiate itself. It had ads all over the place, and especially on the Super Bowl, which was for its Music app, which was highly improved in 2015. Apple is doing great and had a great year in 2015.

Other things like Lego sets, toys, and video games were developed for Star Wars. Many companies teamed up with Disney to advertise Star Wars and run contests and sweepstakes, such as Motorola, Verizon, Fandango, and Gamestop. It was almost impossible to not know that a new Star Wars movie was coming out.

2. Furious 7 was a very emotional, being the finale of the Furious movies after the death of the great Paul Walker. Social media boomed after his death, and the movie became a tribute to Paul Walker.
