PCMS WEEKLY UPDATE

December 4, 2015

We have some amazing kids and staff at PCMS! This week our Foreign Language teacher, Mrs. Wallis, had a balloon in her class which was accidentally popped by one of her students. Mrs. Wallis enjoyed teasing the kids by pretending she was really upset about the balloon’s demise. Several students then decided to play along and decorated her room the following morning with two pinatas, one male and one female. They hid 25 balloons throughout her room to replace the one balloon which had been popped. Mrs. Wallis was so touched that she scrapped the lesson plan for the day and seized on the opportunity to discuss Latin American weddings with her students. She ran out and bought a “wedding cake” decorated with a heart and the names of the pinatas, which she shared with the class...after the pinata wedding ceremony, of course! From what I hear, the pinatas are on their honeymoon in Cancun at this time. According to Mrs. Wallis, the students ended up having SO MUCH fun with this, which in turn totally made her day! I truly love the caring and playful nature of both the students and staff at PCMS! Another #PCMSProud moment!

Lost and Found

Please have your student(s) check the Lost and Found tables for any clothing, outerwear, or shoes they may have misplaced. They would need to check in the office for any eyeglasses, jewelry, ID cards, phones and electronics. As always, any clothing/outerwear items not claimed by Dec.18th will be donated to a local charity.

Note from the Nurse

The State of Missouri has added the Meningococcal vaccine as a requirement for all 8th grade students in the 2015/16 school year. If your student is at the doctor's office anytime between now and August 2016, you might want to ask the doctor about it.

NOTE: All incoming 8th grade students for the 2015/16 school year will need to have proof of getting the Tdap and Meningococcal vaccinations before they will be able to receive their schedule at Enrollment. Please contact Tammy Kobush (school nurse) if you have any questions.
