Classroom News
What a beautiful week in 5th grade!
Our readers were focused on identifying author's point of view about electronics. They were able to find evidence in the text as to the good and bad things about electronics. They were even able to add in a little of their own opinions. We would love for our students to see points and counter-points to arguments and we got a great start this week!
Our mathematicians spent time focusing on using their GRIT and perseverance in solving multiple operation problems. We are learning an area model of division and applying the distributive property.
We continued our work in science exploring model making to help us understand things we cannot see and touch. Ask your child about "the drought stopper," an investigation regarding a siphon.
PLP notices were stapled into your child's planner today. Please check to confirm the scheduled time. If an adjustment needs to be made, please contact me by email.
Thanks for sending in the stuffed animal friends. We spend a lot of time asking our fifth graders to stretch their thinking to prepare for middle school, and this was a wonderful opportunity to act our age!
