Digital Learning Day Update!
Thank you for your support in our first ever Digital Learning Day. While there are a few kinks we need to work out, overall it was a success. We appreciate your efforts in ensuring that Digital Learning Days are a viable option for the future.
Please be reminded that Digital Learning Day assignments are required classwork, and will be recorded in the gradebook as such. If you have any questions regarding your students' Digital Learning Day assignments, please contact their teacher.
Congratulations to Dyer's Competitive Robotics Team!
Spring Chorus-Open to ALL 3rd-5th Graders, Two Amazing Opportunities!
Dear Dyer Bears,
Spring Chorus has two opportunities for our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders this year.
Opportunity One: (Audition Required-limited space)
Mountain View Cluster Concert on March 1, 2018. Originally we were told we could have 50 students participate but due to space limitations at Hamilton Mill UMC we can only have 25 students. We will be performing 6 songs which need to be learned in a month’s time. Chorus rehearsals will be on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. More information will go home in Friday folders.
Auditions for the Mountain View Cluster Concert:
Open to ALL 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.
Will be held on Tuesday, January 16th and Wednesday, January 17th at 7:15am.
Only attend ONE session.
Auditions will be a range check (how high and low the student can produce a sound) and singing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.”
Email Mrs. Coulombe at sherry_coulombe@gwinnett.k12.ga.us to be placed on Tuesday’s or Wednesday’s roster by Monday, January 15.
Audition drop-off is in the car rider line. Doors will be open from 7:05-7:15am. Please be on time.
Fees: T-shirt, bus and dinner. Estimated cost is: $25. I will communicate exact cost, and payment process once details have been finalized.
Opportunity Two: (Open to all-no audition required)
We have been asked by the Harlem Globetrotters to present our National Anthem on the basketball court and lead the cheering section (including our percussion instruments.) How exciting is that! If you want more information on the Harlem Globetrotters, look them up on YouTube.
Saturday, March 3rd at 7:00pm at the Infinity Energy Center
Watch for sign-up instructions in the coming weeks.
Fees: $20 tee shirt (only if you have NOT paid a Fall Chorus fee.) Discounted group tickets for our performers and families.
Our awesome tee shirts will be ordered as soon as we have Cluster Chorus and Globetrotter rosters set.
Please feel free contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Sherry Coulombe

Georgia Parent Survey
Parents,
Please help us improve our school by taking a few minutes to complete an important survey for the State of Georgia.
The Georgia Parent Survey is from the State of Georgia and assists with our College and Career Readiness Climate Star Rating. You may complete the State survey on your computer, smartphone, or tablet or in the Dyer Media Center. We would like ALL parents to complete this State survey, and all responses are anonymously submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Please click here to access the State survey.
We hope you will take a few minutes to complete this important survey to help us improve Dyer Elementary. Thanks for your support!
