Employers may drop 401(k) matches as companies look to cut expenses
About 95% of employers offer either a company match or other type of contribution. However, amid the pandemic companies may scale back their contributions to workers’ accounts, through suspending or delaying them until later this year.
Carriers adapt workplace benefits to help employees affected by coronavirus
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, many companies have reduced hours, or laid off or furloughed their employees to mitigate the loss of income. Usually this would impact employees insurance benefits but large majority of carriers are making exceptions to their usual method of determining benefit eligibility in order to extend coverage for employees affected by COVID-19.
Think twice before cutting employee financial wellness benefits
When companies are facing financial struggles, it often looks to cut expenses. Financial wellness is not an expensive benefit, and the value it brings to your employees and your organization far outweighs the nominal cost.
