Family Needs

  • Knowledge of IEP goals and objectives

  • Families with more than one student with disabilities

  • Adult knowledge of Technology and AT

  • Time and scheduling

  • Family knowledge and consent to individual, small group, large group virtual

  • meetings.

  • Synchronous and asynchronous schooling

  • Family needs assessment

  • Weekly survey to all family members asking questions about the quantity of work, appropriateness of tasks, time spent to complete

  • Non – school needs (social services, food, financial, etc)

  • Specific topics and times for family supports for parents, students and staff

  • Families are overwhelmed

  • I met with the executive director of Autism Society of Oregon yesterday, and she was saying that parents deeply appreciate service providers reaching out directly to check on kids, even if they don't have the answers regarding service provision and access - just that connection and outreach alone means a lot.

  • Survey to all families about what they need-including food, learning support, money, help with education

  • Case manager is liaison.

  • Weekly parent teacher meeting
