The 2nd Nine Weeks

You should have received your child's report card in PSS. Since we started a new nine weeks, all students start off fresh, new and with a 100! Remember teachers enter one grade a week, so by the end of the day Monday, please have your child check SSS and please also check PSS so that you can see your child's grades after one week.

Advisory/Intervention time is a time for students to catch up on any work and work on Dreambox and Reading Plus. Both of these programs are FREE and we expect students to engage with them once a day. However advisory/intervention time is twice weekly and all students to focus on schoolwork, dreambox and reading plus. Teachers are available via zoom the last 50 minutes on Tuesday/Thursday to help all students. We appreciate your help and support!

Please also remember, all teachers are available twice a week for tutorials. If students choose to stay and they need transportation, they must sign up 24 hours in advance. All students receive a drink and small snack when they stay for tutorials.

We will have a Virtual Guy's Night Out this week. We want to encourage our families to still participate and do things together. Although we can't gather at CMS, we hope to provide our guys with some fun things to do together as well as some pizza! Please see the flyer for details.

We are also hosting a virtual book fair. Please support our library and purchase some books for your child!

If you or your child need help/support with anything, please reach out to any of our Counselors or Assistant Principals so that we can set up a meeting.

Please let us know how we can help you throughout the year. You are more than welcome to email me directly or call my secretary, Laura Torres, to schedule a meeting with me if you have any concerns or questions. It is my privilege and honor to serve as your child's Principal. Thank you for your support and we look forward to another great year!

Go Cougars!

I.D.’s for all Chapa Students - Chapa Middle School students are expected to wear I.D.’s during the school day. We want to be able to identify all students and adults on campus. The original I.D. will be furnished to students at no cost. Additional I.D.’s will cost $3.00 each. Each morning between 7:45 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. students will be given the opportunity to purchase or pay off an I.D. If students do not have their I.D., students will be charged $3 for a replacement I.D.

SEL Daily Check-In (Attendance)

Everyday we want our students to log in to Schoology and complete their daily check-in. You may see this in their schedule as SEL daily check-in (attendance). It does not take that long and the survey asks two questions. This is something we just started and it's a way to see how kids are feeling (for us to follow up if needed) and just to make sure they are logging into Schoology daily. This isn't "class time" or anyone they need to see. It's simply a form to complete.
7 Mindsets

We are in our fourth year of implementation of the 7 Mindsets. This year we are trying to make sure we talk about our 7 Mindsets daily and educate our CMS Community about what we are studying.
