August 14 - August 20

Thursday, August 18 - FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

So excited for the start of the 2022-2023 school year, just days away. Our first day of school is Thursday, August 18th. On both Thursday and Friday all high school students will remain at their home school all day. Students will not transfer for any elective classes at Nampa or Skyview. Our students will get a chance to have some quality time with their mentor teachers on both days as well as getting a chance to meet all of their Columbia teachers. Students that have returned their device that was checked out to them last school year will be issued their new device either Thursday or Friday. If your child still has their device from last school year please have them bring it to school on Thursday.

Our staff and administration are proud to be Wildcats! I know our students are going to be excited to be back at school with their friends and back as a part of our Wildcat Family. Our ASB student leaders will be putting on a pep assembly on Thursday – we ask that all Freshman that have been issued their spirit shirt to wear this on the first day of school!

Student Class Schedules

By August 17th, student schedules will be available in PowerSchool. If you are new to the Nampa School District, schedules will be accessible using the Parent PowerSchool account. Students that attended a Nampa School District school last year, including the NSD middle schools, will be able to view their schedules using their Student PowerSchool account.

On the first day of school, students can pick up their schedules in the courtyard before school starts. Students will go to their mentoring class first period, not their A1 class.

Remember, schedules were built based upon the requests/alternate requests selected last Spring. A change in schedule will be considered for the following reasons only:

  • Schedule change is needed to meet graduation requirements.
  • The schedule has an error (class period with no course, duplicate course listed, does not meet prerequisite, etc.).
  • Student requests to move in/out of AP/CP/Honors course.

Changes for one of the three reasons above will be considered when school begins. For a change or if you have an aide position listed plan to come to the College/Career Center during the class period for the change on August 18th or 19th. Counselors will be working with you at that time.

When you are reviewing your schedule it is important to look at the teacher name and the school next to it. This will tell you what campus that class is at during that period. (CHS = Columbia High School, NHS = Nampa High School, SHS = Skyview High School)
