For Avenger Students and Families - March 27, 2020
A Message to our Students and Families
I wanted to take a moment to reach out and tell you how proud I am of the work that you have been doing with Extended Online Learning. Our teachers have been working hard to provide meaningful and engaging learning opportunities. I recognize that this current situation is not ideal for everyone. I know that students involved in our numerous spring activities and events are disheartened that they were not able to demonstrate their talents. We know that your dedication and commitment to your passions will benefit you in the future.
As you know, our Extended Online Learning has been extended through April 24. We need to continue to stay focused and work hard on a daily basis. The work you are completing now will help you earn your current high school credits, meet graduation requirements, and strengthen your GPA.
Please make sure that you are checking itsLearning daily to participate and complete the lessons that teachers are providing. We have implemented an A/B schedule with Fridays designated as "Catch Up Days." This gives everyone the opportunity to stay up to date with classwork and learning. Please communicate with your teachers if you need assistance and extra help. We are asking teachers to contact parents if students have not been participating or completing assignments. We understand that families are facing unique challenges. Our counseling department and support staff are here to assist you as needed. If you would like to speak to a counselor, please fill out this FORM and your child's counselor will contact you as soon as possible.
Don't forget to take care of yourself and your families at this time! We hope that you are taking advantage of the opportunity to rest, relax and reconnect with family. We miss you all and look forward to seeing you soon.

Local School Councils are policy-level advisory bodies to the Principal, Superintendent, and local board of education. They may advise and make recommendations on any matter related to school improvement and student achievement. The purpose of school councils is to bring communities and schools closer together in a spirit of cooperation to solve difficult education problems, improve academic achievement, provide support for teachers and administrators, and bring parents into the school-based decision-making process.
After nominations are submitted, we will conduct a vote in early April.
