The annual Bloomingdale CHARACTER COUNTS! Celebration night was held Tuesday evening. Students from DuJardin, Erickson, Westfield, Winnebago, and St. Isidore performed various songs during the event. Bloomingdale Village Trustee, Frank Bucaro helped present the 2018 American Character Youth Awards. Congratulations to DuJardin fifth grader, Cameron Klinetobe (see photo) for being one of the recipients of this award. DuJardin 3rd graders performed the songs, "All You need is Love" and a "Gotta Be Fair" under the direction of music teacher, Miss Doran. This year's theme celebrated the orange pillar of Fairness.
On Friday, October 5th students will not be in attendance due to Teacher Institute Day. Staff members will meet as a district at Erickson and be involved in standards based grading and reporting practices with consultant Lisa Westman. Grade level teams will be work on the development of proficiency scales, aligning assessments to the standards, and discussing grading principles. Lisa Westman will be at Westfield on Thursday, October 11th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for a Parent University presentation on standards based grading and reporting. MARK YOUR CALENDAR as ALL District #13 parents are invited to attend this presentation.
Students will not be attendance on Friday, October 5th for Teacher's Institute Day or on Monday, October 8th as we observe Christopher Columbus Day.

Halloween Lunch Dismissal
October 31st dismissal is as follows
11:55 a.m .Last names that start with A - L
12:05 p.m. Last names that start with M - Z
Your child must be back at school by 1:00 pm
The morning kindergarten parade on October 31st will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the party following from 10:15 - 11:15. Parents may park in the bus lot (blacktop lot east of school) between 9:45 and 11:20 a.m . All cars must be removed by 11:30.
The afternoon parade for all students will be at 1:30 p.m. and classroom parties will follow the parade and begin at approximately 2:00 to 3:00 . Parents may park in the bus lot (blacktop lot east of school) between 1:30 and 3:00 pm. All cars must be removed by 3:15 pm to accommodate our buses.

COD Food Truck Rally
Did you know that 20% of Lake Park High School graduates choose COD as their first college? DuJardin students (i.e. future Lake Park Lancers) can help build the Lake Park High School Scholarship at College of DuPage! Bring friends, family, teammates, and future Lancers to the COD Food Truck Rally & Sunset 5K Saturday, Oct. 13 from 2 to 8 p.m. We might even have a few former Lancers on staff at DuJardin, so this is a great way to give back to their alma mater.
