Congratulations to Julie Ross, Payroll Specialist at WBSD! She received an Outstanding Person in Education Award for 2022 at the Wixom Community Center. Congratulations, Julie!!!
Spotlight on Carol Wild, Kindergarten Teacher at Gretchko Elementary
Congratulations to Carol Wild, Kindergarten Teacher at Gretchko Elementary! She was nominated for the 2022 Oakland County Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award because of her impactful work with students and her passion for helping the teachers of tomorrow! DECA Students Earn Organizations Highest Honors at the International Conference
Nineteen students represented West Bloomfield High School and the State of Michigan at DECA’s annual International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta, GA. April 23-26. One student placed in the Top 20 in the world, two students placed within the Top 10, and three students earned 1st Place recognition in the Sports Virtual Business Challenge.

WBHS Honors Convocation
The WBHS Honors Convocation will be held in WBHS Auditorium on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 7 p.m. This senior assembly is held in honor of seniors who have earned recognition for their accomplishments during their high school career. The program is held in the evening so the achievements of our seniors can be shared with their classmates and families. The program will include recognition for scholastic achievement, athletics and organizational awards. Parents are invited to attend this special ceremony.

Coach Darrin McAllister and the Girls Basketball Team capped off a historic year with a 51-42 victory over Hartland to capture the school’s first ever Division 1 Girls Basketball State Championship.

Reading Rocks!
Linda Trotter’s passion for strings and commitment to student success is unparalleled. Her students routinely perform at the highest levels, sharing their gifts with audiences, adjudicators, and the community at large.
Sheryl Hauk was recognized for her dedication and commitment to the students in the choir program who continue to thrive in music, long after high school. Sheryl and her students have received many notable awards and have had several opportunities to perform locally as well as nationally.
Jesse Sacks has worked to re-establish strong relationships and a sense of community within our band programs. His individual students as well as full ensembles have been recognized for their musical achievements.
Congratulations to Adedoyin Adebayo!
Adedoyin Adebayo, a 13th grader at Oakland Early College, was named one of 2 winners in the state for the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Award and Scholarship Contest. The award luncheon was at the Lansing Center in Lansing. Adedoyin was named the first place winner by the Piety Hill Chapter of the DAR. Jake has moved to West Bloomfield from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He has been working with Durham School Services as a manager for almost two years now. During that time, Jake had the opportunity to visit 20 locations and work as an Interim General Manager in 6 of those. Although he was living in Texas, he is originally from the Indianapolis area and is excited to be back in the Midwest. Jake studied business at Indiana University so to all of the Spartans and Wolverines reading this, Go Hoosiers!
