Spring Break Monday March 29 thru Friday April 2

Principals Message

Panther Staff,

Good afternoon and happy Sunday! I hope that you are doing well and have had a great Sunday! Corona High School re-opened on Monday 3-22 in a hybrid four cohort model. We appreciate all that you have done to stay connected and engaged as students and families. As we close our first week back for our high school students, our hearts are full of joy and hope. It has been a true resurgence of excitement for every educator at Corona HS to once again see our students on campus.

At this time, we’d like to take an opportunity to provide an update regarding the latest public health guidance which has been updated to allow for students to be 3-feet apart in the classroom as opposed to previous 6-feet guidance. With this change from the CDC and California Department of Public Health (CDPH), we are now able to adjust our hybrid model schedules to increase the amount of time our students spend on campus receiving in-person instruction. As a District, we have an obligation to provide our students with an in-person education to the greatest extent possible. For this reason, we intend to implement this new guidance starting Monday, April 12, 2021. However, please be advised that we will remain in the current models the week of Monday, April 5, 2021.

This new information, however, does not change the requirements from CDPH which states teachers must remain 6-feet apart from students in the classroom and students must adhere to 6-feet of social distancing on campus when outside of the classroom.

Our intent is to provide specific Corona High School information regarding updated hybrid models the week of April 5, 2021. We will continue to provide you with as much updated information as possible. All updates will also be posted publicly on the District and school website and on the District and school social media pages. As always, thank you for your partnership and patience as we move towards transitioning our students back to campus safely and efficiently. Remember that this week (March 29 thru April 2) is Spring Break Week! School will resume on Monday April 5 with our four cohort bell schedule. Please view the student and family announcements below for important information and enjoy your Spring Break!

Corona Lights Senior Drive Thru Experience

An amazing event was held for our seniors on Tuesday March 23! The schools in the CNUSD are doing all that we can to provide events with COVID 19 safety protocols in place for our students and this includes Corona HS! Our big senior event was held this week. The seniors were able to drive through a carnival like experience and even had the opportunity to play carnival games and get into photo booths! Each senior was provided with a gift bag at the end of the experience! A big thank you goes out to our amazing ASB and Assistant Principal Julie Stivers as well as our Senior Parent Activities Committee!

Corona HS Upward Bound

The Upward Bound Program is a free college preparatory program for low-income, first generation students who want to go to college after high school. We support students in their journey towards attending the college or university of their choice. Our program offers academic advising, workshops, test preparation, Saturday Academies, fieldtrips, and a 6-week Summer Program. We are currently accepting applications from 8th, 9th, and 10th, graders. Currently all program services are provided virtually.

We are available to provide short presentations for your students if you’ll have us. If you’d like to refer a student, we’ll gladly take any names you’d like to provide and reach out to the student directly.
