School News

- Our Learning Reviews will take place next week. It is important that teachers meet all parents to discuss the learning and progress that children are making. These discussions will be led by children and will focus upon learning. We will make recent assessment scores available but will not get children's books out on this occasion - these will be available during Open Classrooms on 25th March.

- Next Tuesday, 3rd March, some headteachers from other schools in the MAT will visit our school. This is to support our self-evaluation against the SIAMS (church) framework. They will speak to children and spend some time in classes. This is not an inspection, but an internal support visit.

- Don't forget that Friday 27th March is a training day for all schools in the STAR MAT. School will therefore be closed to children on that day.

- If you have concerns or are worried about a child, you can speak to our designated safeguarding lead, Mr Weights. If you would like to discuss things with someone outside school you can seek advice at www.safeguardingchildren.co.uk or follow the policy on our website.

- As a school we always try to do the right thing, but we recognise that we sometimes get things wrong. If you are unhappy about anything to do with your child, you should speak to their class teacher in the first instance. If this does not resolve your concern please speak to Mr Weights. Full details about how to raise a complaint, including forms to use, are available in the policies section of our website.

World Book Day - Thursday 5th March

For World Book Day this year we would like the children to celebrate by bringing in a potato decorated in the style of a character from one of their favourite books. We are also inviting children to bring in a book to share with children from other classes. The theme is 'share a story' so we will be asking the older children to read to the younger ones and the younger children to read to the older ones.
