Pen Pals Make Spanish Relevant

During second semester, Mr. Pelayo's Spanish II and III students have been exchanging handwritten letters with pen pal friends from a secondary school in the south of Spain.

Independent Reading Projects

In an effort to increase reading in the sixth grade, Mrs. Cary's asked students to complete an independent reading project. After reading the novel Hoot by Carl Hiassan, students selected a reading project to complete. Jackson Jeffcoat chose to tackle the cereal box book report. He had to create a cereal name and design as well as decorate a cereal box with illustrations and information from the book Hoot. Each side of the box includes items such as title, author, story elements, a summary, a game, puzzle or word search, and a rating of the book.
