In planning for the upcoming school year, parents are invited to provide information that will assist us in the class placement process. Please click here for a letter that details the process for sharing that input.
FREE BOOKS!
Just a reminder to please check that your child has submitted their scholastic book order for their 5 free reading books for the summer!
Virtual Author Visit
Our bilingual students welcomed children’s author and illustrator Lulu Delacre into their classrooms via Zoom this week. She shared with them her books, her illustrations, and her passion for writing. The students loved hearing her stories. They were inspired to become writers themselves!
For more information about Lulu Delacre HERE is her website.

Richmond Intermediate
Growth Mindset
We have “showered the halls,” with positive affirmations!
*3rd grade focused on the idea of GROWING when making mistakes.
*4th grade focused on how “Changing My Words allows me to Change My Thinking”.
*5th grade focused on how “Overcoming the obstacles that are in your way allow you to SOAR to greater heights!”
So, whether you are sitting around the kitchen table or outside taking in the new growth emerging from the ground, take a few minutes to discuss growth mindset and the activities they are learning here at Richmond!

March Madness
Our Championship round of the D303 March Madness Book Competition took place this week. The two finalist books were All The Way To The Top (by Annette Bay Pimenetel) and Pacho Nacho (by Silvia Lopez).
Students had the opportunity to hear both books and vote for their favorite. Both of the finalist books along with the entire Sweet 16 can be found HERE. Ask your children about the winning book and if they agree with the voting.
