Bowling Wins Area Championship
The 2019-2020 Area 12 Bowling titles belong to the Huskies! Hewitt-Trussville defeated Pinson Valley on Monday as both the Boys and Girls teams finished perfect in Area play. The HT Boys won 1241-794. David Davis led the way for Coach Tommy Abney's team as he bowled a 175. The Husky Boys are now 15-1 overall on the season and completed Area play with a 10-0 record.
The Hewitt-Trussville Girls defeated the Indians 913-785 on Monday. Madeline Newman had the high score for HT as she bowled a 137. The Huskies are now 10-3 overall on the season and finished Area play with a 8-0 record.
The Huskies honored their Seniors at Monday's match. Five HT Girls and two HT Boys were recognized. Here are this year's Seniors:

Both HT teams have advanced to the AHSAA North Regional to be held in Vestavia January 16-17.
Basketball Opens Area Play
Hewitt-Trussville Basketball will begin Area play on Tuesday as they travel to Vestavia Hills. The JV contests are scheduled for 4:30pm. The Freshmen Boys and Varsity Girls will play at 6pm. The Varsity Boys will tip-off at 7:30pm.

The Huskies will host Spain Park in the first Area home game on Friday January 10.
Indoor Track Opens 2020 with Statement Performance
Hewitt-Trussville Indoor Track traveled to the Birmingham Crossplex Saturday for the Icebreaker Invitational. The Huskies had an impressive opening 2020 performance as the HT Boys finished 2nd out of 28 teams and the HT Girls finished 4th out of 30 teams. The Huskies will return to action on January 15 for the Combo Meet.

Wrestling Moves Back Into Region Competition
Coach Dave Barden's Wrestling team will return to Region competition this week. The Huskies are currently 1-0 in 7A Region 3 duals. HT defeated Mountain Brook earlier in the season. This week the Huskies will travel to Spain Park on Wednesday and Vestavia Hills on Thursday.
After this week, the top two teams from the Region will advance to the AHSAA State Duals bracket.

Student Athletic Pass Pickup Information
In an effort to increase our fan base and make game attendance more affordable, Student Athletic Passes will be available for the second time ever for the 2019-2020 school year. Every student in the district (K-12) will have the opportunity to have their own personalized athletic pass card. With this pass, students will be able to enter ALL HTMS and HTHS home regular season sporting events. The pass is $20 and can be purchased during registration as an item on the activity sheet.

Q. What is the purpose of the Student Athletic Pass?
A. The Student Athletic Pass will be available to ALL students in the district (K-12). Our goal is to make it easier and more affordable for students to attend Hewitt-Trussville sporting events.
Q. What can I attend with this pass?
A. Students that have their pass can enter ALL HTMS and HTHS home regular season sporting events. Every sport! For the entire 2019-2020 school year!
Q. How much does this pass cost?
A. The Student Athletic Pass is $20
Q. How do I purchase a Student Athletic Pass?
A. Passes are available at all five TCS schools and can be purchased through registration
Q. Do students with a Student Athletic Pass still need to buy a ticket?
A. No. The Student Athletic Pass is good for admission to ALL HTMS and HTHS regular season home games. Tickets will need to be purchased for playoff games only.
MS Basketball Back in Action
HTMS Basketball will return to the court tonight as they face Liberty Park. The HT Girls will play at home while the HT Boys will travel to Liberty Park. The 7th Grade games will begin at 4:30pm this afternoon and the 8th Grade games will begin at 5:45pm.
Wrestling Begins 2020 at Pelham Event
HTMS Wrestling traveled to Pelham on January 4 for the New Years Dual Tournament. The Huskies opened with a close 43-42 win over Pelham. After a loss to Homewood, the Huskies defeated Moody 54-15.
Hewitt-Trussville will travel to Oak Mountain for a tri-match on Wednesday.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) requires all student-athletes to complete eligibility paperwork each year. For the second year, this process will be done online rather than in paper copy. Any student, wishing to participate in athletics, that will be in grades 7-12 for the 2019-2020 school year will be required to complete this process. Please follow the instructions below to complete these forms for the 2019-2020 school year. Students’ forms for 2019-2020 need to be 100% complete as soon as possible. This is for AHSAA sanctioned sports only.
