The Summer's Coming Edition

Pictures of therapy dogs. The text says "Therapy Dogs, Tuesday May 22nd from 12pm to 1pm, front area of the library.
This year the library is hosting a golden retriever, a lab/golden cross, and (for the first time ever) a pug! They're all very eager to hang out with you and help you relax during finals.

Also, to assist with your last minute cramming, the library will provide students with coffee, tea, and snacks all finals week!

Is the Cañada Game fun to play?

Big picture

You tell us! - feel free to download this table top board game from 1973, print it out, and play it. If you have a group you can reserve one of our study rooms using this link.

For all you aspiring Shakespearean Scholars out there, or even if you just have to write a final about a play, we have a great new tool for you. The JSTOR database has combined with the Folger Shakespeare Library to help you find articles about Shakespeare's thirty-seven plays.

JSTOR's Understanding Shakespeare database lets you click on any line in any Shakespeare play and connect automatically to all the essays and articles in JSTOR that contain, discuss, or analyze that line. If you're curious about what a line means or its history, this is an easy way to review the existing body of scholarship. It's also an easy way to find more sources for the essay you're writing!

Here's what it looks like:

Not into Shakespeare? - Maybe you'd rather read a comic book or graphic novel . . .

Comics are great for summer reading, and we have an awesome section we keep up to date just for you. Come on in and check out some new stuff (or just read them in one of our comfy chairs).

Summer Hours

This summer we're open June 11 to July 21

Monday - Thursday

8 a.m. - 7 p.m.

See you here!

For us life without the internet is unimaginable, but did you know . . .

Big picture
That's right. According to our statistics database Statista, half the world can't stream Netflix, listen to Spotify, or fall into a Wikipedia rabbit hole. That's more than 3.5 billion people who, tragically, can't watch the newest cutest cat video online. So next time you're not getting a good signal on your phone, try and be patient (we know it's hard!).

That's it for now. If we don't see you, have a great summer!
