Chatham Reads Preschool Research Survey
Chatham Reads, a countywide collaborative dedicated to increasing third-grade reading proficiency, is gathering data from Chatham County Schools families. The individual data collected below will not be shared. We will use this data in aggregate to show trends.
Our goal is to see where our students attended preschool and how well these preschools prepared our students for kindergarten success. Thank you for your time.
For questions, please email Jaime Detzi (jaime@cefmail.org)

CCS COVID PROTOCOLS 2021-2022
Please remember symptomatic students should not be sent to school. View the list of symptoms below to determine if your child should remain at home.
Each case is unique, thank you for working closely with our school nurse to help us all #StaySafe in Pandaville.
PTA Updates
Thrift Shop volunteer shifts
We need volunteers to come out for our 2 hour workgroups on Wednesday evenings! The Chatham PTA thrift shop volunteer hours earn us almost $20,000 to use towards valuable resources and programs that support our students at PES.
Our next work group night is this Wednesday, September 22nd. Please sign up if you are available for any of our September work groups. Also, be on the lookout for the October sign-up!
Monster Dash registration is open!
The Monster Dash is BACK! On Saturday, October 16th we will be running a 5k and 1mi fun run to enjoy our beautiful Pittsboro community while raising money for our school. Sign up today! The deadline to receive a t-shirt with your race packet has been extended to September 30th. This year’s t-shirt will feature artwork by PES 4th grader Harper Triece. You can also purchase t-shirts separately in the race store.
Join the PTA
You’re the missing piece! Join for just $5 a person! Parents, teachers, families, and community members are all welcome to join.
The goal of our PTA is to create an active partnership of parents, educators, and the local community in order to support the needs of our school and foster the success of our students. We work to accomplish this goal through volunteering, special programs, fundraising, and more, and are always looking for new members to work with us to achieve these goals.

Birthday Celebrations for #PES2122
You do not have to send anything, but a few pandas have had birthdays and we wanted to share that we prefer you to send in non food items. However, if after talking with your child's teacher and it is agreed upon, you may send in individually wrapped, store bought food items for your child to share.
Our #PAWSome Student Services Team is Helpful!
They help students by:
Providing individual and group counseling
Teaching classroom lessons
Making referrals
Consulting with parents/guardians on students' needs
