Plant Growth
Does carbonated water affect the growth of plants?
Questions
- Will carbonated water affect the growth of a plant?
- Is there a difference between carbonated water and non- carbonated water when being used to water plants?
- What's the difference between carbonated and non- carbonated water?
Experiment
For this experiment, I measured how tall two plants became over the course of 3 days after watering one with regular water and the other with carbonated water.
The dependent variable of this experiment is the type of plant.
The independent variable of this experiment is the type of water.
Hypothesis
If carbonated water is used to water a plant, then the plant will grow exactly the same.
The plant below was watered with regular water.
Day One
This plant was watered with regular water and was 0.25 inches tall.
Day Two
Still watered with regular water and it was 0.50 inches tall.
Day Three
Still watered with regular water and it was 0.75 inches tall.
Day One
This plant was water with carbonated water. It was 0.25 inches tall.
Day Two
Water with carbonated water and it was 0.50 inches tall.
Day Three
Watered with carbonated water and it was 0.75 inches tall.
The plant above was watered with carbonated water.
Conclusion
After completing this experiment I've learned that it does not matter if you use carbonated water or regular water because they do are the same and do the same job.
