Please avoid scheduling appointments or vacations during these testing windows. Absent students will be required to take make-up tests on alternate dates and miss classroom instruction. Teachers will provide more specific scheduling information. We appreciate your support.

Charity Volleyball Event

Thank you to our school community for supporting our annual Charity Volleyball event benefiting the Foundation for Excellence! Our Oakley team play hard and had a great time! Our wristband sales and Spirit Week participation raise almost $1000. We look forward to sharing the (combined Oakley & Wixom) grand total amount which will be donated to the Foundation for Excellence soon!

Optional COVID testing now available at the ESC

The District is now offering optional COVID testing to our staff, students, and parents. Both Rapid and PCR tests are available. The testing will take place at the Educational Services Center (850 Ladd Road, Building D Walled Lake, MI 48390) on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2-7 p.m.

The COVID testing staff, provided by a third party, will be responsible for letting people in the side door on the south side of the building.

· If you have insurance, your insurance provider will be billed.

· If you do not have insurance, there is a cost of $110.00 for a PCR test and $50.00 for a rapid test - This comes as a result of the Federal Government no longer providing funding for testing.

There will be signage placed both inside and outside of the building. To set up an appointment for testing, please complete this requisition form.

Construction Update

Lighting updates have been completed throughout most of our classrooms and learning spaces! We love the new lights and the various features including motion sensors and the ability to dim.

The construction crew has been working this past week moving lots of dirt and removing concrete to prepare for the initial foundation work for the new gymnasium. The entire construction area is safely fenced in and our students can watch the action from a safe distance while outside for recess.

Scope of work:

  • New lighting throughout the building
  • Media Center renovation
  • Gymnasium addition
  • Restroom upgrades/improvements
  • New carpet throughout
  • New Roof
  • Entrance Canopy Modifications
  • Security Upgrades
  • Network Upgrades
  • Cafeteria Renovations (current gymnasium will be the new cafeteria)
  • Music Room Renovations (the current cafeteria will be the new music room)

During our Spirit week, Thursday was "Dress like someone else day"! Check out Mrs. Todd and Mrs. Grinnell along with Mr. Ross and Mr. Burgan, who lead our Auch construction team.

Spring Scholastic Books Fair Opens THIS WEEK!

Our Spring Book Fair will run from Thursday, April 14 - Friday, April 22. Please see the details below. As always, we need volunteers to help run the fair. It is an easy job of running a cash register, more importantly, it is a lot of fun to be in the school for a few hours and see how excited our kids get! We have a variety of time slots available.
