Walter Diemer
Walter was born on January 5, 1904. Throughout Walter's life, he got married twice, and with his first wife, he had two children, a girl and a boy. After he retired, he and his wife moved from Philadelphia to New Jersey, but after that his wife died. When he got old he moved to a retirement home and then met his second wife. Walter died at the age of 95 on January 9, 1998.
How was Double Bubble invented?
Walter Diemer worked at a company called "Fleer Chewing Gum Company," in Philadelphia. Walter was twenty years old when he invented Double Bubble. When Diemer had some free time, he would try different recipe's for for gum. Double Bubble was more of a discovery because he accidentally made it. He made a batch that was less sticky than normal gum, but it stretched more easily, and he called it Double Bubble. Walter never patented Double Bubble.
