Free lunch meals available daily for those in need!
The Child Nutrition Services Department realizes that students cannot learn without having nutritious foods to eat. Therefore, we will be offering free meals daily to those middle school students in need, starting the week of May 4th, at Coronado Middle School. There will be no snack or drink sales to limit the risk of exposure to students and staff.
Per USDA regulations, students are only allowed to receive one lunch meal daily. If a student receives weekly meals (7 breakfasts and 7 lunches) through our bulk meal distribution on Mondays, they will not be able to take part in the daily lunches available at the middle school.
If you would like your student(s) to receive free meals on the middle school campus, Tuesday-Friday, you must notify Charity Campbell, Director of Child Nutrition Services, one week in advance. A consent form will be emailed to you, stating that your student(s) do not receive meals through the weekly bulk meal distribution. The signed copy must be emailed back prior to student meal pick up for record keeping purposes.
The bagged lunch meal will consist of a cold entrée (such as a sandwich), a fruit, vegetable, and milk. The student will be able to pick up their free lunch meal outside the middle school cafeteria at the beginning of the lunch period. The student must state their name at pick up to receive their lunch meal.
Thank you and we look forward to serving you!
