Title 1 Presentation

Title 1 is a federally funded program that provides support for students and groups of students who are at risk of not mastering Indiana Academic Standards. In Warren Township, all elementary schools and middle schools are Title 1 served schools.

COVID-19 Update

As the weather gets colder and restrictions have been eased, we encourage staff and families to stay the course with ensuring masks are worn and social distancing is followed to the extent possible. As more students are returning to class, teachers and administrators are working diligently to utilize every part of the classroom in an effort to support social distancing.

While numbers are fluid, there has been an increase in the positivity rate in Marion County. As of November 1, Marion County was at a 8.6% positivity rate. As a reminder, the Marion County Public Health Department has issued guidance for schools around criteria for in-person/hybrid/full virtual instruction.

As Dr. Hanson stated in his Wednesday call, we are continuing to follow the guidance of the Marion County Public Health Department, which can be found on their website marionhealth.org under the COVID-19 Dashboard, School Guidance Dashboard. With the current data, we will continue with our K-5 IN-PERSON, K-12 VIRTUAL, and 6-12 HYBRID schedules.

Moorhead Community Resource Center

Last Friday, we celebrated the grand opening of our Moorhead Community Resource Center located at 8400 E 10th Street. The MCRC will be a centralized and organized center that will provide a variety of resources to our students, families, and community. If you have a need for resources, you can either work through your child's school or you can reach out through our outreach hotline at 317-608-0545 or email at MSDWarrenOutreach@warren.k12.in.us.

Friendship Week and World Kindness Day

Next week is both International Friendship Week #FriendshipWeek as well as World Kindness Day #KindnessDay on November 13th. We will spend time acknowledging, talk about, and celebrating these two events.

Transition Time

We are getting ready for our next transition! For those families wanting to transition their classroom environment from in-person to virtual or visa-versa, the window will be open from Nov 13 to Nov 24th @3PM. This will be the last opportunity to change your classroom environment for the 20-21 school year. The decision families make will be for the entirety of 2nd semester (3rd and 4th quarters), it is important that families communicate their desired transition as soon as the window opens. We recommend that you inform your schools as soon as possible so that we can begin planning for your student’s needs.

Winter Coats!

Hello Caregivers,

This week has been great as we have been able to provide students with coats in time for the winter! We do have a select few left, that we are able to give out, please return the orange slip if you would like for your child to receive a coat. If we are unable to provide your student with a coat then I can reach out to Moorehead Community Center on your behalf to see if they have any additional coats. Please reach out if you need anything!
