Fruits

Any thing fruit or 100% fruit juice would go under the Fruit Group.The amount of fruit intake depends on your age, gender, and activity level. Boys ages 9-13 should eat 1 ½ cups and ages 14-18 should eat 2 cups. Girls ages 9-13 and 14-18 should eat 1 ½ cups.

Vegetables

Any vegetable of 100% vegetable juice would count as a memeber of the Vegetable Group.The intake of vegetables for girls ages 9-13 are 2 cups and ages 14-18 are 2½ cups.For boys 9-13 the intake of vegetables are 2½ cups and ages 14-18 are 3 cups.

Grains

Any food made from wheat, rice, oats, cornmeal, barley or another cereal grain is a grain product. Bread, pasta, oatmeal, breakfast cereals, tortillas, and grits are examples of grain products.The daily intake of grains for girls ages 9-13 are 5 ounces and ages 14-18 the intake is 6 ounces. For boys ages 9-13 the daily intake should be 6 ounces and ages 14-18 the intake is 8 ounces.
