What's the scoop at the Luce?
Hello Luce Families,
Welcome to October!
This week is another 4-day week. Last week we celebrated Yom Kippur, had picture day, and lots of learning. Tomorrow we will celebrate Indigenous People/Columbus Day. School is not in session tomorrow.

CAPT Meeting This Week (Postponed until Next Tuesday, October 18 @ 7 pm)
The CAPT and Tuesday Tea meetings will be combined next Tuesday. We will serve tea and baked goods. Also, childcare will be available for anyone who needs it. We will continue to offer a virtual option for this meeting.

Nurse Bonner Updates
This Tuesday, October 11, 2022, the health office will conduct health screenings for grades 1, 2, 3, and 4. If your child wears glasses please make sure they bring them on Tuesday.
If your child has a medical condition excluding them from the mandated health screenings, please provide the health office with a physician-signed letter for exclusion. Parents wishing to waive the BMI screenings can send a letter to the health office annually stating their wishes.
Fall seasonal allergies are underway, sniff sniff, achoo! Make sure you know the signs and symptoms of allergies and how to keep them under control. Seasonal Allergies in Children

Hispanic Heritage Month Family Resources
Hispanic Heritage Month 9/15-10/15
We are happy to celebrate all cultures at the Luce. National Hispanic Heritage Month began on September 15th and ends on October 15. Please see a resource that will help you celebrate this rich culture at home.
K-5 Curriculum Overviews (Repost)
Elementary Curriculum Overviews
Information about the curriculum taught at each grade level in core subjects; English/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, can be found in the new Curriculum Overviews that are available on the District website. They have been translated into Arabic, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. If you need a different language, please contact Deborah Rooney at rooneyd@cantonma.org or your child's teacher.
