CATCHING THEM IN THE ACT
A CONSERVATORY PREP NEWSLETTER
October 30th edition
Welcome back to those who were on the amazing trip to the Dominican Republic. The trip was life changing for many and the experience was one we all remember fondly. Knowing that we made a difference in the lives of others was very special and fulfilling. Please see pictures below.
I know that students that remained worked hard with Mrs. Teitzman on transforming the green room into a true makerspace. I can't wait to see the results of your hard work. Also looking to hear about the day at Peaceful Ridge, volunteering at the Senior Center and working with Jim Hammond to get the puppets ready for Day of the Dead.
Looking forward to sharing experiences with all the students.
Congratulations to Ryan Strober upon his admittance to Lynn University and Beacon College.
Special events for the upcoming week:
Monday: Monster Mash - Wear your ghoulist costumes to school (preferably those from literature) and get ready to join the National Honor Society in Monster Mash activities. Improv will take place from 3:30 - 4:30PM.
Tuesday: Key Club - 3:30 - 4:00PM. Get ready to plan the next community service event. Band will take place from 4:00 - 5;00PM
Wednesday: Day of the Dead Parade - Meet at 4:30PM in front of the Museum of Art at 1 Los Olas Avenue. Students will have the opportunity to earn service hours by getting the giant puppets ready and marching in the parade. Should be over around 7:30PM. Always a great experience.
Thursday: Chess Club - Conservatory Prep will now 'officially' meet every Thursday during lunch to enhance chess playing skills and get ready for competitions.
Friday: Keeping your identity safe -Credit cards, debit cards, social security numbers, passport ID, all need to be protected. Learn ways to protect your identity and your accounts safe from predators.
