Take Action

Changes to After-School Library Program

The number of children using the library after school has grown tremendously this year. To make sure the program has a safe ratio of adults to children, we will be implementing the following changes March 30 - May 29, when the program ends.

  • Sign-ups will be weekly

  • Maximum of 15 children each day

  • Children may be signed up for no more than two days per week

  • Children who are absent without notice will not be eligible to sign up in the future

  • We will be using a new registration system (more information to follow)

Please note we cannot make any exceptions to this policy.

Thank you for your understanding.

Parents may continue to spend time with their children in the library after school until 4:10 p.m.

Last Chance! Book Drive: From One Reader To Another

Collection bins will be at the Family Read-Aloud Party TONIGHT

Help stock the library at Para Los Niños Charter Elementary School, located in the Skid Row section of downtown LA. Show our children how we work together for others and how we support literacy! We need new or gently used books in good condition, PreK-12. No encyclopedias, magazines, out-of-date reference materials or toys, please.

Gentle Volunteer Reminder

We have an assortment of fun events going on right now and coming soon, including FSA Book Drive & Clothing Drive, Fit Week, and Together through Music and Dance. Sign-ups for volunteers are on the Parents Page — we invite you to sign up for one or more event. If the hours don't work for your schedule, please let us know, and we'll find a way. This is a great way to make friends, and you will enjoy it. We promise!

Any questions, please feel free to call or email FSA Co-President Christine Kim at christinegoldings@sbcglobal.net.

Yearbook Sales - Ordering is easy!

Go to: http://www.shoplabschool.com

Kids love to sign each others’ yearbooks on the last day of school. These keepsakes will bring back fond memories for many years to come. If you forgot whether you have ordered a yearbook, please email your room parents — they can look up the ordering information for you.
